New challenge of Internet filtering: find good content, filter content, and fit it into a context
Best-selling author Jeff Jarvis ( “What would Google do?”) says on the occasion of the Burda DLD-Digital conference in an interview with the FAZ community that the value creation will shift on the Internet. To the question, where in the future value will be added, he replied:
There are two types of value added: create the content and filter the content. The variety of content on the Internet is growing very fast. The challenge therefore is to find the good content. In a world of information overload value creation will shift to finding and filtering content and fitting it into a context.
Who (or what) will undertake the task of filtering? Humans or machines?
You have other people whose information you trust more. There is no longer just one news site that fits all. Marissa Mayer of Google speaks of a hyper-personalized news stream produced by machines. But I think there will be a combination of algorithms and humans to evaluate and edit the news to individual requirements.
CENDOO is developing with the Information-Butler just such a tool, which in the future will be more and more necessary to cope with the information explosion. The Information-Butler will be able to filter content for each user individually and to deliver exactly the sought-after information.
